Which Motherboard is Better?

Which motherboard is better for gaming and a bit of overclocking? The ASUS Maximus VIII HERO or the Gigabyte Z170X Gaming G1? I would like long lifespan, great materials, more than 6 usbs, usb 3.1 type c, good sound, m.2s and auto fan control.

Which one is better, they perform about the same. They are extreme overkill unless you are going for absolutely insane overclocks (which you said a bit of). Motherboards are not very important when it comes to overclocking. Yes VRM's are important but they are good on even the cheap boards now.

Between these, if you are really set on paying this much money, get the one you think looks nicer because performance wise you will not see a difference.
