Currently I have a a10, but i would like to upgrade to an Intel (looking at the xeon e3-1240)
To do this, I need to change the motherboard. Is this a easy swap like with a GPU? I have seen mixed responses to this, and would like a Definitive answer. Thank You!

Well, you have to take the whole system apart and swap the parts.
Then you have to reinstall the OS (and all your applications)

Other than that, easy.

The id codes seem to cut off at windows seven, Do you happen to know what the codes are for windows 10?

What OS is this? Windows 10?
How did you obtain it? Upgrade from something else, or did you purchase and install it?

You're probably going to have to start back with installing 8.1, and then upgrading again.
This assumes your 8.1 is a retail license and not OEM.

Why? The Win 10 Upgrade is tied to your hardware. That info lives at homebase. Since you now have a whole new system (motherboard), the activation servers know nothing about it. It effectively has no valid WIn 10 license.
So...start over with Win 8.1 and then Upgrade again.
