Hi there,

So its about time I change this legacy pc (Pentium dual core processor / integrated card graphics xD)

So I chose this build based on the availability of parts locally. I can't really buy online since the local taxes would pump up the price and there's the risk of damaged products etc...
Budget is kind of restrained so Im going for the essentials trying not to compromise too much.

Parts are also kind of lacking (or about 20% more than the US/EU zone), so many suggestions may be out of question. I'm getting the GPU from abroad since its not available but only did so because its a crucial component.

I'd be great if you guys could check it out and give your opinions. Basically looking for a kind of future proof gaming (or the very least a semi-decent one). My requirements are not so strict as 1080p 60 fps, rather 1080p 40+ fps at medium to high quality stable is ok for me.

I'm not into overclocking as such, just the average user. Thanks!

Hi all, thanks for ur replies:

1. Allright I'll try for a higher power PSU - It seems a 630w version of the thermaltake or a corsair cx750 m 750w is available.

2. @ Daniels: These are available but at a higher price which I don't think I could get. The model Saphire Nitro R9 380 4gb is priced at 512 USD and the Palit GTX970 Jetstream 4GB at 475 USD. A bit too steep but I guess the performance is high tier..

An i5 4460 won't bottleneck either of those cards.

Both the thermaltake smart series and Corsair cx's should be avoided as they are not good. Both are tier 4 and suffer from poor quality components. The Evga b2, gs, g2 and p series are great units. Seasonic, Xfx, Superflower, and Antec are also good options. The i5 4460 wouldn't even bottleneck a fury x or 780ti.

I see, well luckily there is an Antec HCG620 modular (high current) available. Do you think this one is better?

The 4460 is not going to bottleneck any single GPU currently available, and would be fine for most dual card configs.. I run an i7 3820 which has close to the same single threaded performance as the 4460(the 4460 is just a bit faster t stock settings) with dual GTX 770s(faster than a single 290, 390 or 970) and the CPU is not a bottleneck.

Did you even read the link? And your i7 is far more powerful than the i5, it's even hyper threaded to twice the cores..... It's the 3rd gen equivalent of the 5820k, but without the overclock capabilities. And the 970 is considerably more powerful than the 770.

I'm running dual 770s is SLI which is faster than a 970 and will keep up with a GTX 980. Most games use 4 or less threads so hyperthrading does little(unless you run alot of programs in the background) the per core performance of the 4460 is actually bit faster than my 3820. The 4460 has a single threaded rating of 1952 and the 3820 is 1938.

You should try reading through the posts. As for your CPU, you are bottlenecking, but the dual 770's end up being a little overkill at 1920 x 1080 for most games, so it's not very noticeable.
