Thanks for posting model details.

I've checked on both Canon US & Canon UK websites and Windows 7 64-bit is not supported on that scanner model.

You have two options:

a) Buy a new scanner which includes Windows 7 64-bit driver on the included CD.

OR

b) Give "VueScan" software a try to confirm that it works with your scanner. If it does, buy a registration code which costs $39.95: http://www.hamrick.com/

I had to buy VueScan for my Epson scanner (expensive one) when I upgraded to Windows 7. I can tell you that if you are doing quality scans for printing (ie paper photographs) VueScan beats anything that you get with a scanner.

There is a third EL-Cheapo solution, and the satisfaction that you have beat the system wanting you to keep upgrading your stuff even though you don't need it.

Finding in the precise situation as you are, am now running a 32 bit Virtual Machine within my 64 bit host. The software is VirtualBox and, ta-da, is FREE. The amazing thing is, I used to have to install a TWAIN driver, but VirtualBox automatically recognized the scanner and BAM!

In this 32 bit virtual machine, am running several of my legacy applications which could not run under 64 bit. I love it, I ain't giving them more money, for what? :D
