Guys

I have HP deskjet 3515 printer which uses one tri color and and one black cartridge. I did not know that black color cartridge uses pigment based ink. i refilled it with dye based epson universal ink. now printer does not print in black. It prints the black ink test page but words are missing. Now should I put pigment based ink into the same cartridge to make it print in black?

kindly guide me

Solution
try using the "head cleaning" utility, should be in the printer software utility or on the control panel. I'd say the cartridge probably has the print head as part of it, so replacing the cartridge would in turn replace the head, which will fix the problem. Sure refilling ink cartridges can be cheap, but it can also block the head with ink that was not designed to work with your printer.
