I need help I'm building my first PC i plugged everything right and when i pressed the power button nothing happens no light no fan movement no noise nothing..
At first i thought it was the system panel header so i fiddled around with the pins and nothing no power no fan movement nothing, then i removed my graphics card, checked the pins (again) checked the power connections and this time there is a light from the power led pin but again when i pressed the button nothing happens only the light is on.

Specs:
Fx-6300
Kingston Hyper-X Fury blue 2x4Gb
Corsair vs550 PSU
motherboard- ASRock 980DE3/U3S3
Sapphire Dual-X r9 280 3Gb OC

Solution
Its common for first builds to have a short circuit somewhere. First thing you want to do is make sure all your cables from the PSU are connected correctly. Namely, make sure the 4/8 pin CPU cable is connected as well as the PCI-E cable to the GPU

I checked the cables again everything seems to be at order but again when i press the button nothing happens just a green light no noise nothing i even plugged a system speaker no noise no fan movement just this green light and that's it, i really hope that the problem is the power button and not the PSU cuz i just got the damn thing today.

Refer to the mobo manual for front panel setup.
Also, make sure you don't have any cables coming directly from the psu to the motherboard connections labeled as sysfan1 or anything to do with a fan.
