A nVidia GTX 770 is far too weak to play games at 4k resolution. You generally need at least one GTX 980 (GTX 980 Ti would be better) to play games with medium settings. See following review of a GTX 980 Ti which also includes benchmarks for the GTX 980.

All graphic settings are set to the highest quality unless stated otherwise. To play games at 4k resolution you need a monitor that supports 4096 x 2160 resolution and a powerful graphics card.

Content and monitor both need to be 4K.

I think you can get 4K movies from Amazon or Netflix but for a video game you need a very powerful GPU.

Also, just on a sidenote, everyone talks about 4K, but Steam releases hardware stats of it's users, only 0.07% of Steam users play in 4K. This will shock you, 1080P is just now coming around so don't go into 4K just yet. Wait at least 2-3 years. We don't even have games that would take full advantage of it.

4k is simply a resolution, 4096 × 2160 pixels. consumer 4K is more correctly refereed to as UHD which is 3840 × 2160. (double FHD)

in order to run 4K graphics, you need a GPU that can Handel those resolutions, a link interface between the GPU and the monitor that supports 4k, and a display that supports 4K signals. Netflix, Amazon, and YouTube currently support delivery of UHD media. supposedly there's a physical disk medium in the works for UHD media also.

as of right now, Display Port is your best bet for UHD and higher resolutions, as only Nvidia's Maxwell GPU's have HDMI2.0 which is needed for proper 4k/UHD resolutions over the HDMI standard.
