I have Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3 mobo and it has already CORSAIR Vengeance (2 x 4GB) 1600Mhz DDR3 installed...

Do I need to buy another kit of the same or would it be better to buy 2x8GB kit to replace the old one?

Solution
Your motherboard has a dual memory architecture. This means that 2 sticks of RAM will run faster than 4 sticks of RAM. So i would definitely replace the old RAM with a new 2x8GB kit. Also, on some motherboards using 4 sticks of RAM may default them to a lower speed.

2x8GB is better, less stress on the MC and if it's a set of 2x8GB it's guaranteed to work, trying to mix sets, even if the same exact model offer no guarantees all 4 will play. As to the above, if you did go 4 - all would still run at the same speed, and you set the sspeed they don't default to lower with 4sticks than with 2
