combining AMD and Nvidia cards in Windows 10

I've heard this can be done but have found 0 threads on this. Has anyone tried this and what was the outcome?

I'm debating on getting a 980ti to pair up with a 295x2 but would like some feedback on results from others experiences before I buy into it.

Thanks!

You can certainly post with both card types installed you just can't combine their graphical power in any meaningful way at this time. You can use various cards as video output devices, but the game will only render on a primary display/graphics card.

As of now there are only a few demo applications written for DX12. It will be a while before any of the major engine developers adopt it. And the consoles will hold us to the DX11.2 standard for a while for mainstream games.

IT will be available in future not now. It's a Dx12 feature but now, you can't. The new drivers should be made and etc.
so now. it's impossible and i think you even can't post with a AMD and NVIDIA card!!!

Ah, I may have read a direct x12 article that planted this wicked little seed in my head. I'm trying to overcome the mini displayport connection issue that I have with connecting my 295x2 to my 43" Vizio 4k tv. I guess a fix may be much further down the road than I was hoping.
