Hi all, for the last 5 years ive been using a M-Audio 2496 pcie sound card, i specifically chose this as it had the phono outputs, which i need as my pc sound system is a 1200w powered mixer which takes phono inputs.

Now im also looking for an optical input from my Xbox One, i need both, phono outputs x2 (left & right) and a optical input x1.

Is there such a sound card with both these options??

Also im starting to think that my 2496 card is getting dated as sometimes it refuses to be detected in win8.1, and there is no driver for win8.1 for this card from M-Audio.

Your help & suggestions would be appreciated.

Current new build as follows:-
Asrock FM2A78M-HD+
AMD A10 7850K APU
Corsair water cooled
Msi Geforce GTX 760 Twin Frozr GPU
M-Audio Audiophile 2495 sound card
Cronus 650W modular PSU
Samsung 250GB 850 Evo SSD running WIN8.1 and apps (sata3)
2 x 1TB HDD`s in RAID
HyperX Savage 2400mhz - 2x4GB Dual Channel

So far im really pleased with the new system which has evolved nicely over the last few weeks, the final piece to my puzzle is the sound card

Cheers

I run a Sound Blaster X-fi Titanium HD (Make sure you get the HD not the Fatality or non-HD) which also does the same thing but is no longer available, you may be able to find it cheaper used. I just checked ebay and found a bunch between $50 and $120.

With the Titanium HD for the optical in you need a TOSLINK to miniplug optical adaptor or cable like this:

http://www.monoprice.com/product?c_id=102&cp_id=10229&cs_id=1022902&p_id=1557&seq=1&format=2

Its an absolutely awesome card.

EDIT: Also its the oldest card I'd recommend, Creative did have previous models that had these features but you will have driver availability issues, they stopped updating many of them even up to Windows 7! The X-Fi Titanium HD drivers will be available in October for Windows 10, but there is a 3rd party guy who made drivers for it in the interim that work fine. If you get it let me know and I'll point you to them.

I like it, getting closer, found a nearly new one in the UK for £99. A few used ones but many with no front panel. Im not sure im buying into the idea of having cables view-able from the front of the pc though.

Front panel? The Titanium HD doesn't have a front panel, and the ZxR just has an external volume control but its wired right to it. Both of them have the connections you need on the back.
