Hi to all!
I've been getting the a problem for quite long time and I don't manage to get through. When I connect the DVI display over a HDMI cable only the video flow reaches the display.
Time ago I didn't have this problem but after many formats that trouble comes up, though the involved display is different from the display I used before. However, the current DVI display is up-to-date.
I tried to download the latest drivers from ATI website, both for video and AMD HDMI. In "Device Manager\Sound, video and game controller" appears "AMD High Definition Audio Device" correctly, but when I plug-in the HDMI cable I cannot switch the HDMI output device as default one by right-clicking over sound icon in the bottom right on the PC screen. Moreover, when I connect the external screen through CCC (Catalyst Control Center), the following message pops up:
"An HDMI-to-DVI display connection has been detected. In ordero to hear audio on your DMI-based TV or display, you will need to have a separate audio connection from your computer sound outputs to your TV or audio equipment. For more information [...]"
What does this message mean? Is maybe a cable related issue? I don't think so...it's branded by SKY.
