system recovery disc for a Samsung Ultra book with no CD ROM ....how??

I am having problems loading up win8 on my samsung series5 Ultrabook. I spoke with Samsung support and requested a flash drive with win8 system recovery media loaded on it so i could try to restore/repair windows. They sent me a DVD WIN8 system recovery disk. The ultra book has no CDROM, only USB. My question is, can i load the data from the DVD to a flash drive and use that in my Ultrabook and if so....how? Pretty sure the flash drive needs to be bootable but i honestly dont know the 1st thing about it.

You need another computer that has a cd drive to make .iso from a cd

And use the program Rufus to burn it to a bootable usb

Don't bother using that disk or (the now ancient ) rufus. Simply go to http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media and follow the instructions to download and use a recovery USB stick.

If you need to also reinstall, make sure to put all the required drivers in the USB stick before using it.
