can't install the 355.82 nvidia driver on wid 8.1

Hey guys so I just got my hands on metal gear solid and i wanted to install the driver before i play, but i'm getting an error stating that my version of windows is incompatible and it could not find the hardware,
my gpu is a gigabyte g1 gtx960 2gb and i'm definitely sure that the driver is compatible, my os is windows 8.1 pro 64bit
No problems with gpu, don't have an overclock(It's on factory settings )
Appreciate any fixes thanks

Make sure the driver you getting is for Window 8.1 64 bit.

You don't have to get the latest driver to run MGS V.

I downloaded the driver from geforce experience and from the site, both for windows 8.1, it's not only this driver it's the others as well, the one for killing floor 2, and even for older versions like the witcher 3, gta v, drivers do not install as well. Any ideas as to what could be causing it?
and any fix?

Try uninstalling all Nvidia drivers and then use DDU to clean up any remaining files.
