Hi
I plan to make an AM3+ build with FX 8370.
I am checking for best motherboards that can handle overclocks and have good crossfire.

After some researching on the internet and reading some articles, I think Asus Sabertooth is perfect for me, I just need a confirmation if that motherboard will work well with 2 R9 380 or R9 390 ( i plan to buy an R9 on Christmas) .
Also I wanted to ask is it true that sabertooth is the only am3+ board with PCI-e 3.0? I cant find anything else.

So basically can Sabertooth have FX 8370 overclocked with a pair of 2 R9s and handle well heat etc? Just need some extra details. If someone already tried crossfire x with 2 r9 380 on this motherboard will be great to know how it goes! Thanks!

UD3 R5 can also work for you.

am3+ platform is limited to PCI 2.0 . however that wont be a drawback regarding gpu(s) performance

Ok yeah that's a pretty good motherboard but still only sabertooth has PCI 3.0 right? I know it doesnt really matter but just saying.
So the Gigabyte board will have same perfomance?

Hi
The bandwidth of pic e 2 is enough for graphics card. So don't pay attention to PCI-e .
But If I were U , I would wait for AMD ZEN or use skylake .
AM3 is not a good choice !

Thanks for the replies. As for the ZEN I cant wait that long there is not a certain release date will probably be out early 2017 or whatever:)
The UD5 R5 Gigabyte board looks pretty solid.
So if I undersdand you correct if I have Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 R5 with FX 8370 (with a safe overclock) plus 2 R9 380/390 will work?
Sorry for slow reply was checking the specs:)

you will be fine!. make sure you also get a quality psu.! i wouldnt suggest crosffiring R9 380, as there are better single gpu solutions!

Yes I will have a good PSU. True , I will probably go for R9 390X if I can ,just wanted a motherboard that can handle 2 of them if in the future I wanted to crossfire because I really hate to have to change motherboards.
