I am planning on overclocking for the first time with my i5 4690k for gaming purposes. I will be using a Noctua NH-D15 cooler and my motherboard is a Gigabyte UD3H BK. Do you think this mobo will be able to OC the chip to at least 4.4-4.5 Ghz? I have done some research and found out that this mobo really uses a 4 phase power system doubled, not a true 8+2 phase. I am worried that this will cause instability and limit higher clocks.

Solution
The motherboard might limit your overclock at high voltages and for the last 100Mhz or so. I would expect you to get to 4.3Ghz on most chips, but more than that will depend on specific characteristics of the chip that you buy. The 'silicon lottery' mentioned above.
