Have you tried playing other DVD disks? Make sure that the connections are properly seated.
Another thing you should do is check the Device Manager in your computer and try resolving the issue by un-installing and re-installing the DVD drivers. Check your computer/motherboard manufacturer's website for the proper drivers for your model as well and make sure yours are up to date.
