Will this hard drive work for my laptop/notebook?

I have a HP Pavilion P 15 N series and my hard drive does not work, it says
"boot device not found
please install an operating system on your hard disk
Hard disk (3F0)"

Will this hard drive solve this error?

You can install an operating system on that hard drive and it will work.
Just putting the drive in the computer wont solve your error.

Did you uninstall your OS or do something to the computer, or was it working one day and then just would not boot into windows the next?

I tried to install an operating system on the hard drive but it did not show up on the installation screen and when i tried to do the CMD Method, also it did not read any disk AND i dont think i did anything, one day it just wouldnt boot..

Pretty rare for a drive to suddenly be undetected like that. Was there noticeable decline in the performance of the system lately? Any LOUD clicking sounds? Any high pitched squeeling sounds? Was the machine dropped - even "a little?"
