Can you easily replace FX CPUs?

I wanted to upgrade from my FX-6300 to an FX-8350. (Yes, I know. Intel is better. I just don't want to buy a new mobo.) Can I just take the 6300 out, put the 8350 in, add a little thermal paste, and then just continue as normal, or will I need to do more than that? And will doing so erase my free copy of Windows 10?

It is pretty easy. If you have an aftermarket cooler then clean the paste off that before reinserting. It shouldn't mess up Windows 10. However make sure your motherboard is fine with 125W CPUs.

What mobo do you have?
Cheaper solution would be to just buy good CPU cooler and OC FX 6300 it will have better performance than stock FX 8350 for much less $.

If that answer is yes then i dont recommend upgrading to the fx8350

That mobo is not good enough for FX 8350.
I think she even have problems with FX 6300.
Better save up more and get i5 and nice h97 mobo.
You can try to sell your current mobo and CPU when you are close enough with $$ for i5 and h97 so you can get remaining money.

Yea it is but it is not good enough to run FX 8350 on it.
You will encounter tons of thermal throttle and it will lower your performance allot + it can make your system unstable.
What GPU do you have??

Your motherboard does support the fx 8350, just be sure to upgrade your bios so it supports it.
It shouldnt mess up windows .
However make sure you have a good cooler ( DO NOT use the 6300's cooler) , like a hyper 212 evo.
Keep in mind that unless what you do on your computer can take advantage of 8 cores, you wont see any difference.
BTW that mobo is pretty bad and even though in theory the 760g chipset and am3+ platform support the fx 8350, there might be a few problems in practice.
And do not overclock your chip with that motherboard.You could fry stuff.
