3 Way SLI 980 TI Hybrid w/ 1440p gaming

For my new build, i was wondering if 3 980 ti hybrids' in sli would be way too overkill, a bit overkill, or just right for gaming at 1440p at ultra settings with 100-ish FPS rates? Or should i invest mainly SSD's and other components of my pc build and just have 2 980 ti hybrids.

As for display: get a 1440p or 3440 x 1440. No matter which option, you should get a g-sync enabled monitor. The Acer X34 Predator (model: xr341cka ) is a highly anticipated display but October is probably the closest release month at this time. Most of my specs are in my signature.
