I am building a high end pc, my budget is around 7250 dollars. I have decided the components used in my build and all of that, but the graphics cards stumbled me. I am either getting 3 980 ti hybrids or 2 titan x's with hybrid kits, which should i get?

the only problem with 3 way sli is some games don't utilize the 3rd gpu that well and only optimize mainly for 2 cards, all depending on the game and how much effort they put into multi gpu setups, but yea 3 980 ti's will be a beast of a machine, 4k ready easily, just make sure you have a high end cpu and lots of ram,

Just for fun, I created a configuration that I would build for myself if I had a spare $5,000:

display: X34 Predator (g-sync) ~ $1,200
GPU: 2 x GTX 980 Ti = $1,400
memory: 64 GB DDR4 RAM = $600
MB = 300
PSU: EVGA G2 1300 = $200
Storage: Intel 750 1.2 TB = $900
CPU: Intel i7-5960X = $900 (micro center)
case $100
----------------------------------------
$5,600

Addendum: I forgot the cpu cooler. If air, I'd get the becool dark rock 3. If water and at the $100 price point, I'd get the Corsair H110i GTX. At the $200 price point, I'd get the EKWB Predator 240.

Mainly gaming and a bit of school work. So no video rendering or any of that business

Titan X is a complete waste of money. You don't need the Intel 750 either. I have one and like it but it's unnecessary as well. You could get a simple Samsung 850 EVO 1 TB for $369. You could also get a single 980 Ti instead of two. And you don't have to get the X34 Predator (3440 x 1440). You could get Acer's 1440p g-sync monitor for $700. I have a 3440 x 1440 (21:9) monitor, but 1440p is still kick-ass. Since you already have RAM, that's another $600 saved. And since you're not doing rendering, you could downgrade the 5960X to 5820K and pay just $300 for the CPU. There are a lot of places to cut corners with this build.
