I was logging out of my user and I happened to crash my computer (blue screen) so after when I rebooted it it would not boot at all. This happened to be me before so I poped out my ram and poped it back in that usually fixes it but no luck so for some reason I thought it would be a genius idea to unplug the CMOS battery and plug it back I. Why I don't know. After doing so the computer still wouldn't boot but here's where my problem gets really bad. My screen broke a while back along with my keyboard so I unplugged an chucked both of them. Now I use a usb keyboard and a hdmi and the other type of monitor output and I was never able to see the computer booting because it would only output when it was at the login screen. What can I do? I'm so fet up and I'll be lost without a computer. That's all my work files and my tv (I use netflix). Anyone got a fix? Fast?

From what I could find online the CQ70 is an old laptop; c.2008 from the manual I found. My guess is that the laptop is set to display via the screen it comes with, and that it didn't switch to the monitor you had plugged into it until you booted into windows. Rereading your first post, it sounds like the screen and keyboard that came with the laptop are no longer working, so it's not a wonder that you can't see or boot into your bios. Your kind of up a tree here.

That being said, even if the screen on your laptop worked, it sounds like it has deeper problems. From the broken screen and keyboard I take it it's seen quite a bit of damage over the years. Toss in the blue screens and the fact that you have to reseat the RAM from time to...

Does your computer have both a discrete video card and integrated graphics? If so the bios reset may have caused your PC to default to outputting video through the onboard graphics instead of through the video card. Try plugging your monitor into the port on your motherboard. If that works then setup your bios to use your video card as your primary graphics adaptor and disable integrated graphics. After you save and reboot you'll have to plug your monitor back into your video card.

Not overly sure what your trying to say. Its a HP Presario CQ70 if that helps. I also noticed sometimes than fan kicks in really high at times sounding like its booting. Other times the fan stays idle at low. Also the three little lights on my computer (battery, lightning bolt and the other one only the battery lights up. I know for a fact the lightning bolt always used to flicker during boot and normal use as i know its suppose too.

Nevermind. I get what your trying to say kind of lol my minds boggled im never this stupid with computers. May i say its a laptop so there is only one vga monitor plugin and one hdmi. I was never able to get my monitor to turn on during boot. If i was able to do this everything could be fixec. I have the old keyboard but using fn + f4 still solves nothing.

Toss in the blue screens and the fact that you have to reseat the RAM from time to time to get this machine to work, and I'd say you had some serious motherboard issues too. Personally, at this point, since your regular fixes didn't fix it, I think your laptop has given up the ghost. She's dead Jim.

Pull out the hard drive and recycle the rest. You can buy an external hard drive enclosure for about $10-15 from newegg.com or a local Fry's or Microcenter if you have a store like that near by. Once you get yourself a replacement PC you can use the enclosure to transfer files over from your old hard drive via USB. Sorry I couldn't be of more help than that.

Thanks for the massive help I think you could be right. Good news, after I had my funeral for Ol' Presario (Rest In Bulk Garbage) I hauled out its twin (Pretty much same thing just a newer model), replaced the broken charging port and booted it up with the old HDD and Vola! I was able to see the whole computer boot (not just the login screen after boot) everything's going amazing now expect for the fact that this one is a dual core AMD... Guess Ill have to suck it up and use a AMD until I eventually build my gaming PC. lol Thanks again for the help.
