I'm currently building a computer and I'm running into a problem. I have every thing hooked in correctly, but when I turn it on it only runs for 2 seconds before shutting down. It'll continue to do this.
Spes:
Gigabyte z97x gaming 3 motherboard
I7 4790k processor
GTX 980 graphics card
Samsung SSD
2 x 8Gb Corsair Vengeance Ram
CX 850M power supply
Corsair 400r case
I won't get any display at all. Any help will do. I tried unplugging everything and replugging them back up. I tried taking the power supply out of the case to check for back grounding, but same problem still occurs. What's strange is this motherboard does not have the 4 pin CPU power connector. It only has the 24 pin ATX and a 2x4 ATX 12v connection. Would that be a problem? Any suggestions?
Update:
I just brought it down to the mb, one ram stick, and the power supply. The mb is on a cardboard box tray of the case and the power supply is outside the case. Still same result. Starts up for 2 seconds, and then shuts off.
