Asus P8P67 LE Motherboard

When did it start?

  • - I updated my BIOS from initial release (ver 708 iirc) to 3801.
    - After updating my BIOS through Asus EZ flash, I've been having trouble starting my computer. I turn the power ON and the screen stays black. I have to try 1-20 times before it gets to POST. If it doesn't get to POST before then, the power refuses to turn on. At this point I have to do a CMOS reset to turn the computer back on.
Errors:

    - http://imgur.com/a/J61PL After entering BIOS settings, check out these crazy temperature and voltage readings!
    - Loading optimized defaults doesn't help.
    - About 3% of the time, I'll be able to boot Windows 10 after dodging all the freezing and errors. Once I'm in Windows, the OS is completely stable. I used it for 8 hours testing games/benchmarks etc and it had no problem. So I really doubt the CPU, the CPU fan, the Power Supply are failing.

What should I do?

tl;dr: computer boots unreliably, about 3% of the time I'll successfully boot Windows, 85% of the time screen stays black when I turn power on, 12% of the time I get to POST and get CPU Over Voltage+Temperature Error

Did you set up the BIOS and then the memory speed and timings? After a BIOS update or a reset, the first thing you need to do is boot into BIOS and set optimized defaults then set the memory speed and timings, the save settings and exit BIOS and boot.

EDIT:
I would take the CPU cooler off and clean off the old thermal paste and reinstall it with a thin coat of fresh paste.
