My PC has no optical drive and I'm considering getting a Blu-ray reader (or burner). I would like to rip some of my Blu-rays and throw them on a hard drive, and I'm very new to this sort of thing. I've done some preliminary research but still don't feel like I have a great handle on the process. Questions...
1) Once I get a drive, what software do I need to do the rips?
2) Are there multiple pieces of software, e.g. a ripper and an encoder?
3) Should I be looking for a drive that comes with bundled software?
4) Is it possible to shell out money for the drive and get all the other components (software) free online?
5) Software recommendations?
