960 and 970, choices?

Solution
You will get a few more FPS and smoother gameplay with higher settings on the GTX 970.

The question is whether the more expensive card allows a noticeable improvement in the games that you expect to play. Check the actual FPS difference in the games you play to see if the upgrade makes sense. In the end, my philosophy is to extend your budget as much as you can to get the most performance you can and avoid any potential regret.

I have a 960 and I regret not spending a little more for the 970, it is much more powerful in every way even though the 960 is very decent card.
Get the Asus Strix 970, my brother has it and it runs super cold and silent.
