I have 2 rigs
my 1st rig
asrock z68 extreme3 gen3
intel core i3 2100 3.1ghz
rasetsu scrt-1000 cpu cooler
kingston 2gbx2 ddr3 1333
inno3d gtx 650 1gb ddr5 green edition
psionic 700 watts korean brand psu
windows 10 pro
2nd rig
asus p6x58d-e
intel core i7 950
rasetsu scrt-1000 cpu cooler
kingston 2gbx2 1066
inno3d gtx 650 1gb ddr5 green edition
psionic 700 watts korean brand psu
windows 10 pro
the only different on the 2 rig are the motherboard and cpu.
here's my problem.
the 2nd rig was a gift from my friend. i extracted the parts of my 1st rig and put it on the 2nd rig. during my 1st day of testing. i smell some burning rubber inside the cpu case, but the system is stable and didn't give some errors. so i ignored it cause i thought the smell coming from newly applied thermal paste. i remove the cpu case and assembled the pc on the temporary table to observe where the smell coming from, im 100% sure that the place is 100% water free. then the 3rd day of testing. when i powered my cpu. it on normally but the operating system loading seems taking time to load so i turn off the system, 2nd time was the same. the 3rd time, when the os is loading, my monitor suddenly displayed black screen and see some flash and smoke from the motherboard parts, but the system still running and the capacitor is glowing after the flash sparks. so i rushed and unplugged the psu.
Here's my question:
Is there any chance to fix the motherboard? what's the cause of this incident?
Is there any chance that my psu is failing ? im using it fine on my 1st rig.
