Hello

I have bought a new computer and im trying to install win 10 on it
My mobo is the asus maximus viii hero i have updated to the newest bios (9....)
I connected only the samsung sm951 m.2 ssd and my usb stick with win 10 on it no other storage devices

The ssd shows up correctly in the smart hdd/ssd part in the bios but its not there in the boot menu only my pendrive and if im trying to start anyway i get error: "page fault in nnonpaged area"

What does this mean? what did i do wrong? But most importantly how to fix this problem?

Thank you for your help

If you bought the board, and have installed the M2 based SSd into your motherboard.
To get windows 10 to install to it.

During windows setup.
Where it asks you what storage device you wish to install windows too.
If the M2 drive does not show up.
It means you will have to most likely install a driver off the motherboard disk provided.
On most versions of windows where it asks you what storage device you wish to install windows on the page displayed will be Add or install device or driver.

Simply pop the motherboard driver disk in the dvd drive. click on add driver or hardware.
and look for the folder that says M2 driver ect. select the folder. click next.

If the driver works under windows 10 install, the screen where it asks you what storage device you wish to install windows 10 to should refresh and the M2 drive should show up as an SSD ect with it`s capacity or storage size listed.
Format the drive using the advanced drive options.
Then click next to start your windows 10 install to your M2 Storage device.

Thank you for your reply:)

I cant get till that if i try to get to windows setup i get page fault in nonpaged area :(

Also the m.2 is not showing up in the bios boot menu

Does it state in the manual that came with the motherboard that the M2 is boot able.
If it does.

Make sure the interface is enabled in your bios for the M2 slot.
It may be treated as a usb device, not sure.
So make sure usb boot devices are enabled.
Along with detect legacy usb devices.

Set the M2 if it shows after a restart in the bios.
Second in the boot priority list.
To get to the M2 options in your bios you will have to be in the advanced mode menu selection depending on your motherboard.
M2 is part or connected via the sata controller, or Pci-e interface, not exactly sure but look in the bios settings also for any reference to the M2 slot of the board.

The manual should tell you how to set up the M2 to make it boot able for OS install though, so give it a good read through ok.
A lot of people fail to do this and where the problem is in truth.
remember the drive just like any other needs to be formatted first in order for windows setup to see it.
So if you can format it by the existing Os installed on the system before you run the upgrade to windows 10 in a prior version of windows 7 or 8.
