Recently, I've refurbished my old PC, replacing all the internal parts. Once everything's set, I powered on my PC but there's no signals going into the monitor. I've been told that I'll need to update my motherboard to support 4th generation of CPUs. Since I'm new to this community, I don't know how.

Here are my parts:
CPU: Intel Core i5 4690
CPU Fan: Antec 600W
Motherboard: ASUS H81M-E
GPU: GTX 960 Gainward
Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 1TB

My motherboard does not support flashbacks, therefore, I'll need an older CPU to do the update which I don't. So is there anyway for me to update my motherboard? If not what kind of motherboard should I replace it with? And also, is there any other ways to troubleshoot the lack of signal between the PC and the monitor?

I've tried every way possible, but none seemed to have worked for me.

Depends on the Asus motherboard you have.
If it`s a new board you can do a usb flash of the bios.

Simply you put the bios firmware.bin file on the route of a formatted usb pen drive and there is a set usb port you must plug it into on the back I/O sheild of the board usb port white in color in most cases.

Then if the board has the usb flash back feature you simply power it up and hold the flash back button on the motherboard for ten seconds and then let it go.
Once the led light stays solid lit, or on some goes out the flash is complete.
Far as I know you don`t even need a cpu installed to do this.

If you don`t have that feature on the board, you will have to find a cpu that will work in the Mobo to flash the bios no two ways about it sorry to say. It`s a pain in the ass I know.

What did you do with the old cpu that worked in the mobo.
You do know The board has likely defaulted to the blue vga output of the motherboard you know.

If reset. Or set back to default factory settings for the bios.

You should use the display ports of the motherboard to get and image to your monitor.

Use either the 15pin dsub or the DVI connector on the motherboard. Don`t connect the monitor lead to a pci-e based Nvidia card if the bios was reset.

That way you will get, a screen output and, access to the bios to be able to flash a new bios.

If your system is producing a single short beep it means everything is in fact working.

But to get video output use the video ports of the motherboard first.

Set the interface mode in the bios after the bios upgrade to PCI-E or peg mode and save the new settings before you exit the bios ok.
Then everything should work ok.

Thanks for the reply, now I understand how the motherboard update works. Since I don't have a CPU that is currently compatible with my motherboard, I guess I'll switch it out for another. Do you have any suggestions for the motherboards that are compatible with my listed specs that is affordable (around $100)? It'll be better if it doesn't have any annoying updates.
