Dear Experts,

I need some advice to figure it out where is the problem for my case

Before I continue here's my PC specs

CPU : AMD FX-6350
Mainboard : MSI 970A-G46
Ram : Corsair 32 GB
VGA : MSI GTX 760
Storage :

    SSD - Trancend 256 - Primary for windows 7 64bit

HDD - Western Digital Blue 1 TB - for data storage

So everything was fine when I set my SATA controller as IDE in bios. After I read the benefit of having AHCI, makes me want to change it from IDE to AHCI. So here's what I did
1. took out the HDD cable
2. entered bios change IDE to AHCI
3. I Installed windows 7 64bit to my ssd
4. installation completed with no issue whatsoever same with the drivers for mainboard, graphic, audio, etc
5. I plugged in my HDD reformat in windows
6. it worked fine, i put all my pictures, video, and dropbox folder in that HDD.
7. I did restart couple of times with no problem, until I turned it off at night and turn it on in the morning. i takes an hour to see my windows desktop. but I can't still able to access my window explorer or administrative tools in control panel.

Once I was able to access the HDD in windows after long wait for couple of hours. I did format the HDD again and it worked fantastic again. I put back the files, relink my dropbox with no issue. And again after i turn it off, and turn it on I'm facing the same issue now.
Please Kindly help me to understand where's the issue and what should I do with this problem.

Does my HDD is broken? DId i miss something in the configuration? I shouldn't use HDD for AHCI? I have no clue since I'm not expert in this matter.

Looking forward for your help guys

Welcome to Tom's Hardware, Odie99!

I'm sorry to hear about your issues with the WD Blue drive! :( In order to determine the source of the issue, I'd recommend you to test the drive by running the QUICK and the EXTENDED tests from the Data LifeGuard Diagnostics tool. Here's a link to the available WD Software, it's second in the list: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=IAHwlB

If you have access to another computer, I'd even suggest you to try plugging the WD Blue there and see how it will perform in the other system. Check the SATA connections as well and make sure everything is connected properly. Having the SATA mode for the drive in AHCI shouldn't affect its performance in a bad way.

Keep me posted with the troubleshooting!
