I'm in dilemma wether to choose the CPUs referred to the title, I'm choosing which one of the two CPUs is the best for my current GPU, Asus DirectCuii R9-280X 3GB GDDR5, and which is more futureproof?, so please help get me out of this dilemma..

1. Intel CPUs are superior to AMD. 2. Why get a 3770 over something like a 4790k/6600k/6700k?

The AMD chip can equal or slightly exceed the performance of the Intel chip when running a heavily multi-threaded workload. For all other applications, I'd go with the Intel chip - it has significantly stronger single-threaded performance, very good multi-threaded performance, and uses less power. However, I would note (as others have said), that it is not a current-generation chip - that would be the i7-6600K.

Currently not many processes can take advantage of AMD's multi-threading capabilities. Intel will not only have better performance on most processes it will also produce less heat, making you spend less money on cooling.
