So I have salvaged a 2.5" HDD from my laptop and I can't seem to get Windows 10 to recognize it. It shows up perfectly fine on my Gigabyte X79-UP4 motherboard but not in windows. I've checked the drive manager for it but that only shows my raid array on it. On that topic I should note that I already have 2 drives installed using raid 0 if that makes a difference. Also the drive that I am trying to use does have a version of windows on it however I didn't think that would make a difference.

As i've stated already it doesn't show up in the drive manager. Also that first link is broken.

I think you're ignoring the underlying problem. Windows isn't noticing the drive period however my bios has confirmed that it is plugged in and functional.
