I am looking for a top end graphics card to run GTAV with no stuttering, I have read loads of threads on here and I know the Titan is good but I would like a recommendation for a top spec AMD GPU card which will run GTAV smoothly please ?

Thanks in advance

What resolution are we talking about?

In general, the GTX 980 ti for nvidia or R9 390x for AMD.

GTX 980 ti is as powerful as a Titan X but costs only $700. R9 390x offers similar performance as a GTX 980 but is $75-100 cheaper. Anything AMD over the R9 390x is pointless even at 4k, 980 ti beats the Fury X, R9 Fury beats the GTX 980 but is quite a bit more expensive. R9 Nano is the same price as a Fury X and performs worse, useful for compact PCs only.

Thanks people, I have a standard HD 60" Plasma (LG) & gtav on the PS4 looked fantastic when I used ssd hard drive so as long as I get the same or better would be a bonus resolution that will do me.

I will also be purchasing an AMD FX 8350 Octo Core to replace my FX4170 Quad Core, as back in 2012 the Octo core was not supported by my motherboard but now I have the latest update for bios & 16GB of memory.

I already told him I accidently clicked that vote button & you can not reverse it, sorry :(

I have a modular 950W PSU, it only powers the 10" fan and HDD game storage drive, my ssd is on the pci-e x1 slot

I want PS4+ resolution really without stuttering the R9 390X is affordable but may wait to buy the R9 295X2 as been looking at benchmarks & its average fps is only about 8 fps difference which to me says smoothe ?

Then I'm assuming that's 1080p. A R9 390x or GTX 980 is plenty for 1080p, even a R9 390 or GTX 970 would work well at 1080p. Anything over those and it would be a waste of money in my opinion. Most 1080p TVs/monitors have 60Hz refresh rates so you will only see 60fps max. All 4 of those GPUs will hit 60fps on near ultra settings at 1080p.

PS4 is about 30 FPS at 1080p with settings of medium to high settings (between low-medium-high-ultra) in the Game Witcher 3. This is just an example. GTA V runs with 30 FPS too at 1080p, with (maybe) say medium settings. Then you would even be satisfied with a GTX 750 Ti. Also your CPU can make huge differences too, based on the game. Look what a PS 4 like comparable pc build would look like at the end of 2013:

They talk about graphics cards like "Asus HD7850-DC-1GD5" or "2GB GeForce GTX 660". These are old cards now and the mentioned cheap GTX 750 Ti would be enough.

If you are confused now, then fine. :D
What I want tell you is, you don't need a beefy and expensive card to get PS4 like results on pc. Take the GTX 980 Ti and you can play GTA V with higher resolution than PS4, with higher texture, lightning effects and quality settings, and all that with 60 FPS (smoother) than on the PS4. If you take the GTX 970, then even all the quality settings for better looking and fps will be higher for smoother gameplay at 1080p against the PS4. More benchmark links

Ok, I understand what everybody is saying but I have been told to buy the best graphics card you can, so when I upgrade my pc spec (not for a while) I can use my GPU on the new system.

I have looked at the NVidia cards & it seems all but the higher priced cards do not have enough V-Ram to create full res at 1080p because I have already tried GTAV with a R7 360 which had 2GB of V-Ram and looked at max settings which is about 6GB of V-Ram needed, the R7 360 was juddering on anything other than blurred block graphics when the settings went up ?

The PS4 graphic chip is equivalent to a HD7870, darn it because I sold my HD7870 over a year ago, now regretting it...

We don't know what the future will bring us and what will be required. It doesn't matter which card you have, it might be not enough 4 years later. So, don't waste your money now, if you don't need it. Why not spending so much money today, so that your needs will fulfill and do this next time again. You could even SLI same card for a fraction of the price now.

If you are looking PS4 equivalent graphics card, then even the GTX 750 Ti is enough. And it comes with 2 GB VRAM. Who is telling you, that this wouldn't be enough for 1080p or beating PS4? A GTX 950 would be enough, if you want it better, nothing more than GTX 970 is needed.

You see? You don't need the newest and most expensive card.
