Crossfire 4 r7 370s or get one gtx 980?

I recently heard about cross firing and I want to use it. Which would be faster and or better?

980 without a doubt.
It is a horrible idea to Xfire low end cards, and anything beyond two cards scales poorly on top of that. So trifire and quadfire would be a waste. Especially with such low end hardware.

An easier option would be to ask your budget?
Two 290s will likely perform on par if not slightly ahead of the 980, in games that support it fully and scale well.

I wouldnt recommend it. As a single card is almost always better in terms of price/performance, scaling, and power consumption. Not to mention the maxwell architecture is newer than the 290.

The r7 370 doesn't support 3-way or 4-way crossfire only 2-way.

It's almost always better to go for a single faster card over 2 smaller cards in SLI or Crossfire.
