Hi, i ordered a Sapphire HD 5670 1GB GDDR5, which i think is a really nice card for the price i recieved it for...

Anyway, the pc i ordered PROBABLY (I'm not too sure and most likely) has a power supply unit of 300w or 350w. Will this be enough for this card to run nicely and i watched a video on youtube who uses this and his runs fine (He has the EXACT same pc and graphics card)

So the main question i really need you guys to discuss is;
Can i use my HD 5670 1GB GDDR5 on my PC which has a power supply unit of 300w or 350w?

Solution

ask yourself this:

are the couple of pounds saved now worth it?

Because maybe a day, or a week, or a month down the line the cheap power supply WILL die and take something else with it.

What could possibly happen if i run it on a 300W or 350W PSU? I know someone who has done this and it is perfectly fine so..

Well, it'll turn on (the system will turn on) as when idle, a card obviously doesn't take much power. As soon as you start to push the card, though, and exceed what the PSU can handle you will start seeing blue screens and probably have some hardware damage.

So should i just get it because i dont really have a lot of money to spend buying a really expensive one and it should do the job as 900+ other people have purchased this
