When I received my computer (Acer V 17 nitro) back from acer it had fixed two problems, my optical drive and my webcam. But it came back with an even bigger problem, my 2TB Hard drive (Samsung Seagate HN-M201RAD Momentus SpinPoint ST2000LM003 2TB 2.5-Inch SATA III Notebook Hard Drive 9.5MM) wasn't assigned a drive letter. I assigned it a letter but when I restarted my computer, it was gone again, so I had to reassign it again, but it kept happening. When trying to check it for errors in properties, tools, the error checking system wouldn't work.

can somebody please help

I know this has been happening to WD drives but this is a Samsung problem so I don't know if its the same problem

Hey there, David!

I'd advise to go to the HDD manufacturer's website and search for their diagnostic utility. Once you've run both short/long tests, hopefully you'd get a correct status of your hard drive and its S.M.A.R.T. status. Either way, if the problem is so persistent, you should contact your laptop manufacturer's technical support again and let them know about this. It sounds to me like they have some more hardware issues to sort out on your notebook.
I'd not recommend you to open the laptop and do this yourself, because it would void the warranty.

Good luck!
