I'm interested mostly in the temperature difference on a laptop.. between the mobile integrated Intel HD Graphics 3000, and the ATI Mobility Radeon 6470M.
I'd like the laptop to run/cool as quietly as possible.
The laptop will be used for web viewing, DVD and avi movies, and possibly photoshop or related programs. The heat generated from these activities is the question.
The laptop has an i5-2410M (Sandy Bridge 32nm), 4GB, SSD, and a HD+ display.
Below are specific specs. However, I do not have the wisdom to understand how these wattage numbers relate to real world heat.
HD Graphics 3000 - no TDP or power consumption given

i5-2410M - TDP of 35 watts

Radeon 6470M - 12-15 watts power consumption
("The power consumption of the chip should be similar to the Mobility Radeon HD 5470")
http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-HD-6470M.43075.0.html
5470 - "The power consumption of the HD 5470 is ... 12-15 Watt depending on the used memory"
http://www.notebookcheck.net/ATI-Mobility-Radeon-HD-5470.23698.0.html
(benchmarks and fps differences between these, on an i5-2410M, in HD resolution.)
