Hi, community!

Could you please help me? I'm pretty desperate. :(

My wifi suddenly stopped working yesterday. Nothing happened, it just didn't work anymore when I started using my laptop.

The card no longer shows in the device manager. It doesn't show in the BIOS either.

I have tried installing the driver again (downloaded it from the manufacturer's website), but it doesn't work either. It says "no wireless card detected".

However, the wifi led light is on, showing there's something working somewhere (otherwise I assume it would be off?).

My computer is an Asus F200MA.

Could anyone please help? I really need it to work ASAP! :(

Alternatively, is there a way to know for sure that the card is dead, so that I avoid looking for solutions to a problem that has none?

Thank you very much in advance for any help!

If the WiFi device isn't listed in Device Manager under any category, and is not even listed as an "unknown device" (yellow question mark) you can safely assume that it has died and is therefore no longer detected by the system.

The wireless light is only a status indicator (WiFi enabled or disabled) It isn't clever enough to know when something is wrong with the device.

Easiest fix is to buy a USB wireless adapter: http://www.amazon.co.uk/b?node=430581031
