I was able to successfully install a new Radeon r7 370 but ever since I installed it and its drivers ive been having problems

first off, if I put the computer into sleep mode I sometimes wont get a picture at all and have to hit my restart button on my case, it then functions normally but I dont like having to do this :C

second, all games have this weird static on them that you cant see unless the scene/screen is dark or certain light colors. I dont know how to explain this cause its not a TON of static. Its kinda like the fall out loading screens how the bands of 'static'/distortion move up the screen slowly

so did I do something wrong?

Solution
The only thing i would change here would be to not use the drivers provided by disc at all, and to go straight to the AMD website and get the latest stable drivers.

You could attempt to fully uninstall all AMD GPU drivers, and re-install the lastest provided by AMD via their webpage. This most likely will not fix the "static" issue that I believe is caused by the analog display cable. This -could- help the sleep issue however...

FYI, if you have a DVI-I cable, you should try that, or if you can borrow one from someone to see if it addresses your static issue. DVI-I in my opinion provide a vastly cleaner signal compared to VGA. DVI-I will also fit into a DVI-D slot and work accordingly.

Best of luck!

How would I do this? Would I have to uninstall the drivers first? I used the driver disc that came with the card then updated them with the amd autodetect utility

Are you using a digital cable between your display and GPU (HDMI/Display Port) or an analog (VGA) cable?
DVI cables are either digital(DVI-D), or hybrid digital/analog(DVI-I).

Analog has inherent signal noise that can be remedied by using a digital cable.

I would check your results with a digital cable before moving forward addressing the sleep issue. If you cannot address the cable issue, you could try to re-install the drivers. If they were installed correctly the first round, I wouldn't expect much of a change however.

im pretty sure I did it correctly, I uninstalled the old drivers from both HDDs, then removed the old card and installed the new card, then I used the disk that came with it to install the drivers then used AMD auto dectect to update said drivers

the only cord my monitor has is a DVI-D which I dont have so I wont be able to test the cord solution till I get one ordered
