I'm buying a new PC and going to build it myself here's specs

Gtx 970 msi

Ssd is a San disk ultra 240 gb

1 tb hdd

As rock 1150 z97x killer mother board

Super nova 750 watt b2 evga

Corsair 760t case

I was originally going for the Xeon 1231v3 it's a great CPU with its hyper treading and good performance basically a i5 and i7 but my friend just said he getting a i7 4790k and seems not that big price range , although I'd over clock it which means I need to buy a CPU cooler but anyway do u know any good CPU around the same price as a Xeon please tell me and I'll look into it :)

Solution
You pay 100 dollars more for a handful of games that have the potential to give better performance with the i7, but that's only likely if you have a strong graphics cards setups to make use of the given CPU power (Battlefield 4 for example) works better in SLI GTX 970/980 with an i7.

The point of the i7 for gaming is more though that it can overclock but also has hyper threading for multitasking and benefits in video editing/rendering etc.

If you only do gaming then don't get anything more than the i5-4690k.

The i5-4690K is cheaper and overclockable, and has a higher base clock than the Xeon (3.5 vs 3.4GHz). The HT is usually not a big deal; the i7-4790K is better because it has an extra 500MHz on the i5-4690K and overclocks better... not so much because it has 4 virtual cores.

Well the Xeon is 295 euro

I5 is 280 so 15 euro more , but the Xeon is also better for streaming so that's what I was thinking about the Xeon
