Hi,

So i have 2X4GB ECC memory on hand. After finding out that the G3258 supports ECC, i tried this combo, but the board did not POST. I've searched long and hard for a solution for this, to no avail. All i want to know is if the Maximus VI Impact supports ECC.

ASUS' website says that non-ECC memory is supported, but i am not looking for ECC support, simply using this RAM. I've got a 1366 Xeon build with 6x2GB ECC memory being used in a consumer board, so i don't see why this would be a problem to accomplish with a newer board.

Thanks.

Yeah, i know it is, but ECC isn't supported on the P6TD Deluxe, which i use 12GB of ECC RAM with a Xeon on.. Just seems weird for Intel to remove that functionality, if they have. Like i said before, i do not want the Error correcting code, just for the RAM to work like normal desktop RAM.

As far as I know, the Pentium (G3258) will not support ECC. There has been some confusion because the socket 1150 /can/ support ECC... But that does not mean all processors that fit that socket support ECC.

It's no surprise the Xeon worked.
