People hearing what i hear (skype)

i listen to music pretty often and my friends can hear it everytime i do, how can i fix this?
Facts: i've build my computer my self so it has no audio program like sound blaster or so.
it seems to work if i turn down the volume on the pc and then turn it up in my headset.

So what you saying is that you are listing to music from speakers while on skype and people can hear it because they are hearing it as a background noise. It is possible that you might have settings on you microphone audio settings of your computer but I think this has to be done through the computer because I dont think skype lets you manage these advanced option. So depending on the quality and options of you sound card you might have it or might not. The other option that could also be used is an auto-mute (your microphone gets muted when not using it and gets activated when talking) not sure if this would work since your music might activate the mic.
