Hey guys, so I just got a new cooler for my CPU and it's quite big, but as soon as I inserted it and turned on the PC I could smell something burning, and when I have put my nose close to the PS I found out the smell is coming out of it. Does this mean I have to put in the old CPU cooler because I really don't have the money for a new PS... I also have the PC on warranty so if GPU or CPU dies I could get them back. I have never before had this problem on this PC, it happened just as I inserted the new cooler.

PS? Do you mean PSU? If so, you either have an older Antec Green PSU that "safely" goes up in smoke, or you have a broken PSU that is one step away from being a fire hazard that might destroy not only the GPU and CPU, but your motherboard, memory, drives, and possibly anything else connected to it including your monitor.

Open your case up and try to pinpoint the location. If you didn't install the cooler correctly, you might see (or smell) the thermal grease shorting out something (or just burning), or it might be just the PSU causing issues (better CPU cooling usually is for higher overclocking and that means higher energy draw)

I mean a power supply, the guy working at the hardware store installed the brand new CPU cooler for me and as soon as I got home and turned on the PC I smelled the burning smell and I think its couming out of the power supply
Edit: Nothing here is old, I got this PC this summer.. :??:

What are the specs (power supply, CPU, CPU cooler, motherboard, GPU,storage)?

That changes everything. Go to that store and complain, too many unknowns if you didn't do the upgrades yourself.

Well im thinking it could be that maybe the power supply doesnt have enough watts to handle this new cooler because it worked PERFECTLY with the last one? Or maybe the power supply isnt getting enough air since the only intake it has is on the bottom and half of the bottom side is covered with this obnormous CPU cooler?(the last one was the stock one)
CPU: x4 860k
GPU: Nvidia Geforce Gtx750Ti
HDD: 1tb(8gb kingsdom clocked at 1666mhz ram)
Power supply: BLUEBERRY Power Supply, ATX 520W - PSB520
