Solution

i3-4170 is an excellent gamer. The only problem is that it's almost double the price for less than a 10% increase. You could take that money and spend it on more...

I already bought everything except for the GPU which im currently using the sapphire r7 260x oc

The PSU is low quality and has too much wattage. Should have bought a smaller wattage, higher quality one.

4 GB is not enough RAM

The pentium g3258 is cheaper and can be much faster than the i3 4170

You won't see a big jump over the 260x with the 960

Overall, the build isn't good at all. You should have consulted here first. I hope you didn't pay over $400 for those parts because they aren't really worth even that.

As others have said, the time to ask is BEFORE you buy so that any important changes can be made.
That said, it seems to me that a GTX960 is a reasonable graphics upgrade over a R7-260X.
It is three tiers higher on tom's hierarchy list.

I happen to think the i3-4170 is an excellent gamer and entirely appropriate for a GTX960 card, or even a GTX970.
Much depends on the particular games you will play.

Alrright ill do that, but as other said I DID CONSULT here and people suggest me the i3 4170 , and also the psu was ok..

A moot point; the OP has already purchased everything and is interested only in upgrading the graphics card.
And... I am with you in liking the G3258 for a starter build.

Thanks, so u recommend me by now upgrade only the GPU to the 960 and More RAM?

For future reference, a 750w PSU is only going to be needed if are running a top of the line processor and a top of the line graphics card. There's even headroom to overclock in there.

For a system like yours, a quality 400-450w would have been great.

The processor choice isn't really a big deal, I'm just trying to get you the best value for your money.

Also of note, the R9 280x is around the same price point of the GTX 960 but is on average 15% faster. You can find open box or used models for $140 - 150.

Oh, ok, so u recommend me to overclock then? with such a good psu, would it be reliable mate?

You will definitely be able to overclock your GPU but your CPU isn't a K model, which means that it cannot be overclocked. If you are going to Overclock, stick with the 960. It has allot of overclocking headroom that you can take advantage of.
