Hi guys,

First post here so a bit new to the pictures and stuff :).

I believe to have low FPS in some games (like WoW) (20-25 FPS in garrison), so i tought lets try unigine valley.

I know WoW demands more from cpu, so i didnt think it that much of a problem.
But unigine valley is starting to make me a little bit more worried.

i have a reference model AMD r9 290.
8 GB ddr3.
I7 860 @ 3453 mhz.

Unigine valley states (i dont know how to post i pic yet atm):

FPS: 40
Score: 1705
Min: 16.7
Max: 57.9

Ultra HD
windows 8.1 64bit
1920*1080 8xAA
Direct3D11

Is this because my CPU or is something else going on?

Many thanks,
Chris

Do you think the 6600k is worth it. I can buy the following set:

Buying
I5 6600k : 222 EUR
Asrock z170 extreme 4: 138 EUR
8 GB hyperx fury DDR4 2660: 52 EUR
Shipping: 6 Eur
Total: 418 Eur

Selling
I7 860 + p7p55d LE + 8 gb DDR3 100 EUR

Net upgrade price 318 EUR.

I use this for:
Office + gaming (1080p atm)

I want it to be future proof thats why i dont buy (second hand) I5 4....

Is this a good deal or is this way too much for just gaming?
I am not really sure the I5 4... will last for 5 years and i probably have to switch the DDR3 anyway within 5 years.
I plan to use this set for 4 - 5 years.

I seems legit to me to buy the 6th gen I5, but i have some doubts, as i am not a total expert.

I was also thinking about AMD 8350 9..., but it doesnt really seem to differ that much in price, and im not sure its viable for 5 years. (altough it seems to profit a lot from dx 12)

having more than 4 cores usually changes nothing, maybe in a couple of games at best which is why i5's are so good.

it's all about single core performance

the 8350 is already on it's last legs

if the price is not much higher than a 4690k + z97 mobo + ddr3 ram then go for it.

if i buy 4690k a.t.m.:

New Second hand
4690k set 406 365
-100 -100
-------------------------------------------
306 265

318 318
299 258
----------------------------------------------
12 67 diffr - 6600k

So its not that much in either case. (better mobo DDR4 more "future-proof" better cpu )
Figured to go 6600k

Second hand prices are indications.*
