Budget is around 40k. Im not restricted to particular game types. I have FPS, RTS, Racing, etc.. all genres in my collection. If possible please also advise a good gaming monitor available in india. Budget for monitor is around 20k. Thanks for the response.

I hope that's 40,000 inr lol! I will assume so because $40,000 would be quite the budget. I don't live in India so I can't shop around indian websites but I will base my prices off of Amazon and Newegg India. I know that I'll sound like a broken record but the GTX 980 is simply a beast of a card. On newegg I see listings for just over 30K. The GTX 980 will easily play all modern games and future games maxed out.

What size monitor are you looking for? Do you want/need any special features (Gsync/Freesync, curved, 21:9, 144 hz, stand adjustments)? What kind of input do you need (displayport, hdmi)?

Sorry i didnt mention the currency. It is INR. GTX 980 is around 50k in india with all import taxes included. I need 24 inch display. 144hz. 16:9 1080p HDMI. Stand adjustments are not that necessary.
What about AMD R9-390X compared to GTX 980. Its just 38K in India. Please advise.

Damn you guys get robbed. 50K INR is over $750! Alright I will have to rely on you for pricing because I have no way that I know of to determine that total of products shipped to India. I would suggest the R9 Fury but I assume that it is also priced too high then as well? The 390x is an impressive card that trades blows with the 980. The 390x is listed as requiring a 700 W power supply though. A good 600 W power supply should be able to handle it though. I would normally get the 390X and if I couldn't power it then I would just return it. However this isn't much of an option for you because of the shipping costs. The 970 has a 500 W requirement and would easily be powered by your system. Those are the best two options for you I think. You can either take a conservative approach and go safe with the GTX 970 or go with the 390X which will offer more performance but will put out more heat and is recommended to have a higher PSU wattage than the one you have. I personally think you will be safe with the 390X.

I will do more research on monitors later when I get back but I figure I might as well post this now.

Yea India has very high import taxes. I think i can opt for GTX 980 because it might run smooth on my existing PSU. Buying 390x+700W PSU will cost same as buying GTX 980.

Recommend a monitor based on GTX 980.

I think that the 390X would work on your 600 W psu. The 390X may be listed by AMD for a 700 W psu but they typically over estimate these numbers. Assuming you have a solid, reliable power supply, it should be able to power it. Unfortunately I can't find the specifications online and therefore can't check the amps on the 12+ volt rail which is arguably more important than the wattage.

About the monitor, HDMI doesn't support 144 hz. If you are just looking for a solid monitor to play games on that won't break the bank then I would just recommend a well-reviewed 1080p 60hz ips monitor. I don't buy into the marketing hype of high refresh rate, 3D, ultra-wide, curved, 1 ms GTG or any other of those flashy gimmicks that manufacturers try and throw in your face. Anyways just let me know and I'll get back to it.
