I just migrated to a new motherboard and kept both my 120GB SSD boot drive and 2TB Storage Drive and after setting up the new hardware I get a black screen telling me to do a repair install to fix it. Once I get the win. 10 disc booted off of I am unable to perform a repair install and it tells me that the SSD drive is locked. I was wondering after looking for solutions online if this is something that happens when SSD drives start to fail and if I replaced it if I could get back into my backup windows 10 stuff. Also since its locked would this prevent me from cloning it. I'd like to note that I still have my backups and can get them back on the drives anytime. If this is a symptom of a dying SSD that should be replaced and how likely is it to fail in the future?
-Thank you for your time.
I tested my SSD and it said it's good now, though in my bios Windows Boot Manager appears as my top spot for the boot order in addition to my SSD, is this bad as some times when I try to reboot or start the computer it freezes, this doesn't happen very often but is concerning.
