I am deciding between getting an iphone 5s or a moto x (2014). The moto x is brand new and the iphone 5s is used. Both are about $300. Advice is appreciated.
Are you tied into either ecosystem? Have you had a lot of iOS or Android devices in the past? Are there certain applications or functions you absolutely NEED on your phone?
I have had both. I liked the app store on android but I would miss features of iphone such as facetime. The camera and video are also my main concerns.
Do you like the interface on one better than the other? My experience has been I can get over a particular app missing, but frustration while simply navigating a phone is too much for me.

Google Hangouts allows video chat with anyone else with Google Hangouts (or using Gmail on a computer with chat enabled). It's actually better than Facetime because it allows multi-party video conference calls. You just create a new video hangout, and add the people you want to include.
But I agree with RedJaron. Which phone to get really depends on which ecosystem you're more comfortable with.
