You might have made it worse if you used a version that came from a random website.
Here's what you do, go to https://www.malwarebytes.org/mwb-download/ and download malwarebytes. It should remove the unwanted software after a proper scan.
If malwarebytes doesn't help, the easiest and most certain way to make sure you aren't infected is to reformat your computer. (back up to an external disk and keep those files quarantined until you can scan them with proper anti-virus solutions.
