I'm planning on buying COD BO1 and COD WAW for the PC and already own COD BO2 The thing with COD BO2 is that it doesn't say "only dvd compatible" up the top of the case it has a PC symbol at the bottom so i was able to use this game through steam but with COD BO1 it has "only dvd compatible" up the top on the website i'm buying from, does this mean this game is not a steam version and i have to put my disc in every time i want to play it even after installing the game? if i do need to put my disc in every time i want to play it i will search for one that is a steam version and doesn't need the disc in to play it also i don't want to buy the games through steam i want to have the hard copy (i am aware that COD WAW is not able to be a steam game if i buy the disc as it was only made as a windows form but i can still add it to my library by adding it myself so i'm am not to worried about this game but would still like an answer)

1) If it's not a Steam game then all "adding" it to Steam does is create a shortcut to the EXE file so yes, you'd still need to insert the DVD.

2) *There are CRACKS I am comfortable recommending since you did not pirate a copy called "NOCD" cracks that overwrite the EXE file with a version that remove the need to insert the disc.

Try to google for that. Example: http://www.gamecopyworld.com/games/pc_call_of_duty_5.shtml

3) For games you INTEND to buy... are they cheaper as discs? Otherwise why not just buy Steam version?

(WAW is $20USD right now but occasionally comes on sale)

How do i tell if my copy of the game is being run through steam/a steam game before i buy it because i bought COD BO2 on a disc and i activated it through steam by downloading it and not needing to put the disc in again. I want to have it as a hard copy and not buy it of steam as i would like all the treyarch games as hard copies
