Hey
I want to buy a budget gpu and the r9 280x seems fine. However, I have a 550 watt power supply zumax pro.
I7 4790k not overcloaked
8 gb ram 1300 mhz
H87m plus mother board
Wd blue 1 tb hdd

Will r9 280x will be ok?
Thanks

In general, 550W would be sufficient to run your system, if the i7 is not overclocked. However, I have no confidence in the robustness, performance, or durability of that PSU. This review is why http://www.overclock.net/t/1310456/phaedrus-zumax-400w-psu-review Not the same PSU, but the same manufacturer and it gives me great pause for though.

So, 550W is enough, but NOT with that PSU.

This info from ZUMAX's site, for the 550W PSU confirm many of the things pointed out in the review

+3.3V@30A, +5V@50A, +12V1@20A, +12V2@20A, -5V@0.5A, -12V@0.8A, +5VSB@2.5A

Old design, and more current on the 3 and 5 volt rails than the 12!
